The idea behind the "Wasted space" is to make everything that you discover more meaningful because you had to travel further and look harder. As much as we would have liked to know the exact size of the map, the developers released no official data on that part. From what I have heard and seen, they do not do this with the NPCs, which I think makes a better immersive environment because you won't run into different people who look identical to someone you talked to three days beforehand.Īs for the open space, that was actually thought out. The map itself is set across a number of different biomes ranging from valleys with green fields and deserts to the west and snowy mountains and hills to the east and the north. They have the moblins in nearly every game and they are creatures that all look alike, similar to how all bears look alike in Skyrim.
